On Sunday I got the amazing opportunity to photograph the most wonderful, intimate, destination elopement and it made all of our hearts so happy! I knew it was going to be a great wedding day as I drove into the mountains near Big Sky and there wasn’t any smoke in the sky. Just a clear, big, and true Big Sky!

Jillian and Robert (or Bob, Bobert, Bobby like I like to call him), decided to elope with both of their parents at witnesses, at the beautiful Rainbow Ranch Lodge, and their super cute puppy, Norman! When we talk about a stress free wedding, this was it! When I arrived everyone was laughing and enjoying each other’s company. Robert slipped away to get into his fancy clothes and then took one last look at Jillian as his fiance. Jillian slipped into her gorgeous gown and giggled her way through putting her jewelry on. There were hardly any nerves, just peace and joy. You could see it on everyone’s faces as Jillian was escorted down the aisle by both of her parents – especially Robert! After a sweet exchange of vows and sealing love letters in a wine box made by a friend for their first anniversary, they shared their first kiss and Mr. and Mrs.!

We spent the rest of our time together, laughing and documenting their first few moments as husband and wife! These two are so great for each other. You can tell they keep each other grounded, but that they both share a love of adventure and the desire to live life to the fullest. You can sense that their “go-with-the-flow” attitude is complimentary to their hard-working & long hour jobs that keep them apart for days if not weeks at a time. You can tell that their life will be filled with a lot of Norman cuddles, immense happiness, many more elopement style adventures (but only one actual elopement :D), and this wild thing called true love! Jilly & Bobby, thank you so much for letting me be there as a witness to such a beautiful day!
